Trotter After-School Program Volunteer Info Session (Online)

  • Wednesday, March 30, 2022
  • 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM
  • Join us online
  • Program Leader: Theresa Levy
At long last, the William Monroe Trotter School is open to RJI volunteers! In September the pandemic caused the school to close its long-standing After-School program—a blow to working families in need of extended day services. Principal Sarita Thomas worked with Trotter staff to pilot an After-School program for first, second, and third grade students. RJI began conversations with Principal Thomas to have TBE volunteers assist with the homework and recreational programming, BUT a resurgence of COVID resulted in yet another shut-down of school visitors. We now have the green light and invite you to an informational session to learn about the program.
The hours for the After-School Program are Monday–Thursday afternoons, 2:30–3:15 pm homework, and 3:15–4:00 pm for recreational activities. The schedule is flexible so volunteers can commit as much or as little time as you please! Join us to hear about this exciting opportunity, directed by RJI member Theresa Levy.
About RJI: TBE’s Racial Justice Initiative works to increase our understanding and activism to address ongoing discrimination and inequality.
