TBE Table

In the Talmud, the mitzvah of feeding people is called arukh ha-shulhan, which means “making our table longer.”

When we ensure other people have enough to eat, we are making our own table longer.

Mission

TBE Table is a member-driven meal production and distribution program located in the TBE kitchen. Our goal is to produce healthy, delicious meals for those facing food insecurity and to build community while working together towards this important goal. We are seeking additional volunteers to help out on all levels of food production and delivery.

From shopping to cooking to meal delivery, there are many ways you can get involved with TBE Table! If you will be working in the kitchen, you’ll be required to complete a basic food handler certification, which you can access through eFood Handlers or ServeSafe.

To support TBE Table, select Social Action Fund from the dropdown menu and write in TBE Table in the field that asks “Is there a TBE gift drive you are supporting?”

JF&CS Family Table

Jewish Family and Children’s Service Family Table is Greater Boston’s only Jewish food pantry. As a community, each month we are responsible for supplying 50 cans of salmon and 50 boxes of whole grain cereal for families in need (see our donation guide for examples).

Thank you for your support of Family Table as this challenging time continues. Let’s work hard to stock the Family Table shelves. Click here to sign up!

Community of Adult Social Action

TBE’s Community of Adult Social Action (CASA) builds connections and community through small-group social justice activities. Many of our volunteering opportunities address hunger, from harvesting food at Gaining Ground to cooking and serving meals at local shelters. Check our calendar to see how you can get involved!
