The journey includes visits to the Rosa Parks Museum, Equal Justice Initiative’s Legacy Museum and Lynching Memorial, the Birmingham Civil Rights Institute, and the King Center among other highlights. We will attend Shabbat services at Montgomery’s Temple Beth Or and Sunday morning services at MLK’s Ebenezer Baptist Church. The trip will be scheduled if we reach a threshold of 25 congregants!

TBE Mission to Cuba

February 13 -20, 2021
Led by: Rabbi Sisenwine

Cuba – a land frozen in time – so close, yet decades away … a Jewish community dedicated to its heritage across half a century of isolation and prevalent atheism … a rich and vibrant island culture, filled with dance and song, classic cars and donkey carts, rum and cigars. Experience all this and more as we step back in time together.

TBE Travels to South Africa

May 1-15, 2021
Led by: Cantor Jodi Sufrin

This journey will include a focus on the Jewish communities and sites of Johannesburg and Cape Town as well as exploring the connections between our Jewish values and the anti-apartheid movement. Who were the most prominent Jews in the anti-apartheid movement? Why did they join Mandela in the fight against apartheid? How is contemporary South Africa doing?

In addition to tackling these questions, we will also enjoy four days in a Game Park to experience the great natural wonders of African wildlife.
