The Future of Reform Judaism in Israel…Where is everyone?
In a recent poll, 12% of Israelis, or approximately 800,000 Israelis, identified themselves as “reform or conservative” Jews. Yet only 19,500 Israelis are members of a liberal synagogue. The obvious question: Where is everyone and how can the Reform movement in Israel reach all of these people (and potential members!)? We will consider these questions and the challenges facing Reform congregations in Israel with Rabbis Na’ama and Gabby, the rabbis of our sister Congregation in Israel, Or Hadash. We will also hear about their amazing work to bridge this gap and make the changes on the ground in Israel.
