  • Tuesday, December 13, 2022
  • 11:00 AM to 12:15 PM
  • Program Leader: Marsha Mirkin

We are no longer accepting registrations for this class.

What do the struggles and strengths of our Biblical foreparent Rebecca and her family tell us about ageless family issues and our own lives? Join in discussion, with Marsha Mirkin, as we explore their story through a psychological lens and connect the story with our contemporary experiences. We will discuss the imperfect and human Biblical family of Rebecca, Isaac, and their sons, Esau and Jacob, as they engage in life’s journey. What does Rebecca teach us about self-knowledge, spiritual connection, and the need at times for risk taking? What can Rebecca’s relationship with Isaac show us about the strength of their marriage and the challenges of understanding who our children are and what they need? Who in this story is/are the transmitter(s) of covenant? There are consequences in this story that can resound and replay through the generations, and there is also courage, love, understanding, and growth. Bring your interest and your ideas–no previous knowledge of the Torah is required. Handouts of the text will be distributed.

Dates:  November 29, December 6, 13 & 20
