TBE’s Community Voice

My story has been about the contradictions we all face during this pandemic: Tending to my kids’ emotional needs while remembering to find a quiet moment and place – does those even exist these days? – to meditate. Feeling paralyzed and then perseverant. Hopeful and sad, distracted and focused. Feeling too much and then feeling almost nothing.

What has given me joy? The gift of Shabbat at home with our college-age kids. Or a backyard fire pit with my kids and husband on a summer night. Moments when everyone in our family is happy. Remembering how blessed we are that we’ve been healthy thus far and not been economically compromised by the pandemic.
