During the pandemic I have tried to reach out regularly to my family and friends, alternating between zoom and phone calls. Zoom has been great for creating the illusion of personal interaction but it can get tiring so I try to use it judiciously. As restrictions have loosened up, we’ve met with friends in backyard get-together a or at outdoor cafes. That face-to-face contact with people other than our immediate family has been central to keeping our spirits up and staying engaged. Even with that there are times we isolated. I wonder, with some trepidation, what the winter months will bring.
