My world has gotten smaller – both physically and socially. I live and work in the same room, and the people I see are mostly close family and a few friends. It has taught me to appreciate the scent of spices in cooking, and the beauty of the flowers on our patio. But I miss the community, the joy of chance encounters, and the sitting in silence with my patients. My identity is a nurturer, and the loss of connection is leaving me feeling less grounded.
