My story the past several months is FAMILY. My oldest son, daughter in law and their 2 children left NYC March 13th and moved in with us for 6 months. They are now living in Brookline, an incredible silver lining. For the first six months we also had our younger 2 boys, young adults, living in our house and our second son lived with us the first 2 weeks and he and his girlfriend have floated in and out of our bubble. We have had many wonderful family moments together and also many struggles. Spending time with my grandchildren, taking long walks with my children and husband through the cold, the spring and summer has brought me great joy and peace. Watching spring arrive, each day a new flower or tree blooming, was truly a gift. I hope I will always notice the beauty of spring when the pandemic is over. My challenges have been watching my children struggle with isolation, anxiety and uncertainty. I am a fixer and I have not been able to solve these problems for them though I have learned to be a better listener. Another challenge is finding time and peace to replenish my own spirit, and somehow accepting the fact that it is very hard to spend time with my dad.
