The story of the past several months – knowing that these times require that one does the right things for the betterment of all, that this requires sacrifice of personal desires but does not necessarily eliminate all satisfactions or desires. Paying attention, focusing on the kindness of others, the beauty in nature, even one’s good intentions bring both joy and gratification. Being able to change course when new facts emerge is a challenge. One day you can see loved ones but the next day you can’t because they have returned to school or work and it may be too risky. Remembering that this will not be a lifetime sentence definitely helps.
