Join us to learn how you can take meaningful, concrete action to save lives and protect a crucial law—one banning the sale of unregulated ghost guns—from being repealed. Ruth Zakarin, CEO of the MA Coalition to Prevent Gun Violence and the newly-formed MA Action to Prevent Gun Violence (MassAction), and Janet Goldenberg, president of MassAction, will provide us with an overview of Massachusetts’ effective gun laws that champion violence prevention approaches as well as comprehensive strategies to foster safer communities.
Hear how the 2024 Omnibus laws earned us an “A” rating from the Gifford Law Center but also triggered a ballot initiative petition by the NRA’s local affiliate, the Gun Owners Action League (G.O.A.L.) to repeal these laws in the November 2026 election. Finally, this session will ground us as we prepare for the “Vote Yes for a Safe Massachusetts” campaign to educate and get-out-the-vote for the November 2026 election!
After MA passed its groundbreaking 2024 law banning the sale of unregulated ghost guns, the Gifford Law Center named Massachusetts one of the top five states for its comprehensive life-saving gun legislation. It’s not an accident that our Commonwealth has the lowest rate of gun-related deaths in the United States—it’s because of laws like this one. But the NRA and GOAL are already working to repeal it. We are fiercely determined to keep the 2024 Omnibus Gun legislation in place and saving lives!
