Music Club: Maurice Ravel—“Deux Mélodies Hébraïques,” Two Hebrew Melodies (Hybrid)

Cantor Josh Rosenberg will share two unique vocal settings of Jewish texts by Maurice Ravel: Kaddisch and L’Engime Éternelle (The Eternal Enigma). We’ll examine how Ravel treats each of these texts musically, and discuss our feelings regarding non-Jewish composers interfacing with Jewish content. Mark Feldhusen will join us for his always-stunning piano accompaniment!

Founded by the late, and great, Art Gerstenfeld, this incredible music program unites music lovers to learn more about music we know, to be introduced to new music, and to enjoy the community of friends with similar musical interests. Prior to each meeting we listen to one or more works of a composer or performer and read about that composer or genre of music. Come join us!
