About Brooke
Hi, I’m Brooke Mcfarland. Being a competitive dancer gives me the chance to not only have fun but also build strength, perseverance, and determination. It brings me so much happiness when doing something I love and being with my friends. That’s only during the school year. In the summer I spend 7 weeks at a camp I adore, Camp Crane Lake. I have been going there since the end of 3rd grade and I have developed so many bonds with so many friends there.
I live with my 2 brothers named Sam and Cooper. I think that it’s cool that Sam used to be a camper at my camp but now he is a counselor and he loves camp as much as I do. At home, I love listening to Cooper give us lots of live music with his guitar. I also love my dog named Gus; he’s a 5 year old labradoodle, is a total fluff ball, and brings joy everywhere he goes. Finally, my parents, Cheryl and Mike, who care for me a lot and I appreciate them so much for helping me through the years.
I’m a 7th grader at Oak Hill Middle School and I love having classes with all my friends. My favorite class is art because it is chill and calming and I’ve had friends in my art class every year.
Becoming bat mitzvah means that I am becoming an adult in the Jewish community. It is important to me because I have a bigger responsibility now. In my family I have roles I have to complete, like taking care of my dog. At camp, I have the responsibility of being a good friend. Out in the world I have a responsibility to try to make the world a better place for all of us. I volunteer at Cradles to Crayons for children who need clothing. I have also helped out at Sam and Cooper’s book drive by donating books I no longer need to kids in hospitals. Learning my bat mitzvah Torah portion has taken a lot of time, and I am a bit nervous, but it means I care a lot, and I’m really proud of myself for coming this far.
About William
Hello,TBE Community! My name is Will Marsh and I am an athlete, a drummer, an actor, and a gamer. I play basketball in the Puma NXTPro Circuit for B2L, a team based out of Newton. I am super excited to play in the Puma national finals in Orlando this summer! I also go to sleepaway camp at Camp Wildwood in Maine, and this will be my fifth summer there.
I have an older sister, Addie, who I love hanging out with, and 2 golden retrievers, Tami and Coach. My house is mostly yellow dog hair. My parents, Evie and Rob, are some of the most supportive people I know, and I wouldn’t be able to go on this journey without them.
I am a 7th grader at Meadowbrook where my favorite classes are math and lunch. Next year, I am looking forward to taking my talents to Belmont Hill (I’m paraphrasing Lebron, but MJ is the GOAT).
I have worked very hard in my journey to become a bar mitzvah and I am very grateful for all of the support that I have been given by my family, friends and TBE community as I take this step in my Jewish life. I can’t wait to become a bar mitzvah on May 17th, and I am proud to be able to be considered an adult in the eyes of the Jewish community.
