Shabbat Morning Service (Hybrid)

Our Shabbat service includes the celebration of the B’Mitzvah of Joshua Myers.

About Joshua
I love Cavaliers! Not the basketball team… they are okay… but the dog breed! I have a 7 year old Cavalier King Charles Spaniel named Ziggy and he might be my favorite member of the family. I am the youngest of 3 brothers—my older brothers Sam and Ben became Bar Mitzvah at TBE and now it is my turn! My parents are Jessica and Chuck. As a family, we enjoy traveling, playing tennis, watching Stranger Things, and Japanese food. My brother Ben and I also really love playing soccer.

I am in 7th grade at The Rashi School, where I have been a student since 3rd grade. I have great friends and teachers at Rashi. My favorite subject is science because there is so much to explore! At school I play soccer and basketball.

It has been a lot of work to study for my Bar Mitzvah, but I am proud of myself for learning my Torah portion and Haftorah. For my service project, I have partnered with Brothers for Life, an Israeli organization that helps rehabilitate Israeli soldiers who were injured during their service. I have supported this organization by hosting 4 soldiers at my house, forming connections with many other soldiers and hearing their stories, and I plan to help raise awareness for the organization during this school year. I have been inspired by the soldier’s stories of bravery during battle and their work recovering both physically and mentally.
