Resilience & Rehabilitation: Educators Post October 7 (In Person)
- Monday, March 31, 2025
- 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM
- Join us in person

Join us for this unique opportunity to hear from Israeli educators on the impact of October 7th and how they continue to move forward.
Alice Shahar, a preschool teacher from Kibbutz Be’eri and a survivor of the October 7th massacre, bravely took on the challenge of helping the kibbutz children heal from their trauma. With Elad Pelleg, the former director of Dror Israel’s high school for at-risk youth in Tel Aviv, she re-established the kibbutz preschool system at a hotel at the Dead Sea, where the survivors had been evacuated. Together, they continue to lead this life-affirming initiative in the kibbutz’s temporary residence, in partnership with Dror Israel, one of Israel’s largest grassroots educational organizations. Eyal Tarchitzky, an educator from Dror Israel whose family also survived the October 7th massacre in Sderot, will share the deeply moving stories of how Dror Israel’s educational collaborations with Kibbutz Be’eri and other evacuated communities have nurtured resilience and hope, touching the lives of over 41,000 people from the outbreak of the war to the ongoing rehabilitation efforts in the south and north.
