About Benjamin
Hello, Temple Beth Elohim! My name is Benjamin Margulis, and I’m excited to be celebrating my bar mitzvah with this wonderful community. I’m a 7th grader at Wilson Middle School in Natick, where my favorite subjects are science and math. When I’m not in school, I’m usually on the ice—I love playing and watching hockey! Next season, I’ll be playing for the Boch Blazers, the Natick Comets, and the Natick Firehawks.

I live in Natick with my family, including my older brother Samuel, who is a senior at Natick High School. We also have a poodle named Yogi, who is always by my side when I need him. I’m lucky to have two incredibly supportive parents. My mom, Heather, often spends time with me playing hockey, and my dad, Allen, always makes the effort to leave work early to take me to practices and games.

Preparing for my bar mitzvah has been a lot of work, but it’s also been a very meaningful journey. I feel proud and accomplished to have reached this milestone in my Jewish life. One of the highlights of my preparation has been participating in community service projects. My favorite experience was working with Barry at Volunteer Ventures, where I helped build picnic tables and learned to use many different tools. Thank you for celebrating this special occasion with me!

About Jonathan
Hello TBE community! I am Jonathan Bloch, a soon-to-be young man that takes a deep interest in hockey and baseball. I have been playing sports ever since I could walk and have always enjoyed them. Most of the time, you will find me in the batting cages or in my basement shooting hockey pucks. My family includes my parents, Alyson and Brian. I also have an older brother, Cam, who is in high school and is the technology support in my household. I am a 7th grader at Dexter Southfield in Brookline, and my favorite class is science because I get to create projects that allow me to use my creative talents as well my academic skills. To me, becoming a bar mitzvah means becoming a man and having more responsibility. Although I won’t be driving myself to school or paying taxes, this milestone suggests that I should be more than just a kid. In other words, I could help out my parents when it is needed or take on a bigger role in my community. For my bar mitzvah project, I supported the Jordan’s Furniture Double Play Drive Donation. I gathered baseball and softball equipment from friends and took on a great challenge in the baseball community. I chose this because I wanted the kids who can’t afford baseball to still be able to play the game they love.
