About Tessa
Hi TBE community, I’m Tessa Hoglund. I live in Natick and am a 7th grader at Wellesley Middle School (my mom is a Wellesley teacher, so I have attended school in Wellesley since Kindergarten). I have an older sister (Ellie), a younger sister (Livvy), and a twin brother (Drew). Drew and I will be celebrating our b’nai mitzvah together. I live with my siblings, my mom (Jackie), my dad (Brad), and our 2 labradoodles (Scout and AJ).
I stay busy with swimming, theater, and skiing. I swim competitively on two teams: Lifetime Swim New England (a club team) and the Wellesley Swimming Association (our town team). I’ve also had the chance to perform in several middle school musicals, which has been amazing!
Becoming a bat mitzvah is a huge honor for me. I’ve worked hard to learn my Torah portions, and I feel incredibly proud to now be recognized as a Jewish adult. Thank you for being part of this meaningful journey!
About Drew
Hello readers! I’m Drew Hoglund, and one thing that makes me unique is that I have three sisters: my older sister Ellie, my younger sister Livvy, and my twin sister Tessa. Tessa and I will actually be sharing our b’nai mitzvah service together, which makes this moment even more special! At home, I live with my siblings, my parents Jackie and Brad, and our two labradoodles, AJ and Scout.
These days, I spend most of my free time in the pool. I swim competitively on two teams—my club team at Lifetime Fitness and the Wellesley recreation team. Last year, when I was in the 11-12 age group, I ranked in the top 10 swimmers in New England in several events and even qualified to represent New England at the Eastern Zone swimming championships in Rochester, New York. My favorite events are the mile, the 1000, and the 200 butterfly!
Becoming a bar mitzvah has taken a lot of dedication, but I’m really proud to have learned my Torah portions. I’ve also enjoyed giving back to the community through Ma’asim Tovim, especially volunteering at Cradles to Crayons with other friends from TBE to help sort clothes. Thank you for being part of my journey!
