- Saturday, May 22
- 3:30 PM to 4:30 PM
Our Mincha Ma’ariv service includes the celebration of the B’ Mitzvah of Zoe Kalish. Please take note: This service is being held remotely and will be a private family service.
Hi my name is Zoe Kalish, and I am in seventh grade at Beaver Country Day School. I live in Brookline with my mom, dad, and older sister Alexa. Becoming a Bat Mitzvah means a lot to me, but mainly that I will become a Jewish adult and have additional responsibilities. My favorite place in the world is Camp Micah in Maine where I have gone for the last 4 years. It is my second home and I look forward to it all year. When not at camp, my favorite activities are dancing, traveling and making Tik Toks with my friends!
Last year I volunteered at Cornerstones in Canton where I played games and made crafts with the residents. It made me really happy because I was able to see how much they enjoyed our visits! It was a really fun experience and helped me understand that even a small act, like a smile or starting a conversation, can really help make someone’s day better. Over the past 7 years, my family and I have also been packing bags of food at JF&CS and delivering it to people who had trouble leaving their homes or can’t afford it. It is always so rewarding to give food to people and to see how appreciative they are when they receive it. I am looking forward to doing more volunteer work when Covid is over because it makes me happy!
