Mikveh as a Spiritual Practice | Creating Your Own Water or Immersion Ritual (In Person)
- Wednesday, September 10, 2025
- 8:00 PM to 9:00 PM
- Join us in person

In this interactive workshop, participants will work through 1:1 and small group conversations with fellow participants, clergy, and staff to craft a personal immersion or water-based ceremony. This process offers space to reflect, create, and design rituals that feel authentic and meaningful. For those who prefer, Mayyim Hayyim also offers a selection of beautifully pre-created ceremonies—participants choosing to immerse may select one of these instead of designing their own. However you participate, this workshop invites you to explore ritual as a path to connection, transformation, and wholeness.
This event will be preceded by “Why Are Personal Jewish Rituals Important in a Modern World?” as well as an opportunity to eat a bring-your-own dinner.
Fee: Members: $50 for all sessions | Non-members: $150 for all sessions. For those choosing to immerse, there is also a fee of $72–$360, paid directly to Mayyim Hayyim.
Registration: This event is available in person. Please click the purple bar above to register.
This class is part of Mikveh as a Spiritual Practice in Preparation for the High Holy Days:
As we prepare for the High Holidays, we enter the sacred month of Elul, a time of deep spiritual preparation and self-reflection. Mikveh (the ritual of immersion in living water) offers us a special opportunity to reflect on who we are, who we want to be, and what we want to leave behind in the water as we enter the new year.
This special multi-part workshop, a unique collaboration between Mayyim Hayyim and The Well at Temple Beth Elohim, will help participants explore the ancient ritual of mikveh and its potential for personal transformation and meaning in their own lives. This series is open to both new and returning participants, with opportunities to participate in the whole series or to register in one or more of the workshops individually, depending on your interest in each workshop.
Open to all ages, genders and anyone curious who’s interested in learning more about the ritual of mikveh. While immersing in the waters at Mayyim Hayyim is reserved for those who are Jewish and those at the moment of conversion, the workshop and water based rituals are open to anyone of any faith background!
