Mike Tauer | Vice President of Administration
Michael Tauer has been practicing law for over twenty years with a primary focus on civil litigation. He is currently Of Counsel at Sanzone McCarthy LLP in Wellesley. Michael received his J.D. from the Boston University School of Law in 2003 and a B.A. in psychology from the University of Pennsylvania in 1999. In addition to practicing law, Michael has been involved in creating and operating restaurants, bars, and other public spaces in Memphis, where he, his wife, and his three children lived for many years before moving to the Boston area in 2017.
Michael serves on the board of the Jewish Community Relations Council and Combined Jewish Philanthropy’s Committee on Development and is a volunteer for Hillel Council of New England. Michael also serves on the Permanent Building Committee for the Town of Wellesley, the board of directors of the Riverbend School in Natick, and the National Leadership Council for Le Bonheur Children’s Hospital. Michael previously served on the board of directors for New Ballet Ensemble & School (2013-2019) and was a mentor at New Ballet from 2013 until 2017.
Hilda Lief | Vice President of Member Engagement
TBE has felt like home for Hilda from the moment she arrived, a feeling she passionately wishes to extend to others. Her family’s deep connection with TBE spans many years, with her daughters participating in Gan Elohim, BaDerech, and B’Yachad, and her oldest currently serving as a madrichim. Their involvement evolved from Families with Young Children to active participation in Tikkun Olam and Immigration Justice efforts, including sponsoring a family through the United for Ukraine program in 2022. Hilda has participated in Parenting through a Jewish lens and SEA Change, traveled to Israel with TBE after October 7th, and is currently studying for her adult bat mitzvah. Her community leadership involvement at TBE includes roles as Family Social Action Co-chair (2015-2018), No’ar Co-chair (2018-2020), and as a member of the TBE Immigration Justice group. Hilda previously served as a board advisor for the Wellesley Friendly Aid, a local organization helping Wellesley residents in need.
Beyond TBE, Hilda is a dedicated professional serving as a career advisor at Wellesley College, where she focuses on guiding students and alumnae focused on careers in business, consulting, finance, and marketing. Through this role, Hilda empowers young women to confidently pursue their professional aspirations and serves as a mentor to the Jewish and Latinx communities on campus. Hilda holds a Bachelor of Business and an MBA from the University of Miami, and resides in Wellesley with her husband, two daughters, and two dogs.
