Prior to the new year, as our friends and family in Israel continued to struggle, we wondered what we can do to bring some joy and show our support. TBE sent jars of honey from a local farm in northern Israel along with personalized notes from our community to all of our friends at Or Hadash, our partner congregation in Haifa. Below you can find Or Hadash’s thank you note, along with some images of what they received.

Dear TBE Friends and Family,

On behalf of the entire Or Hadash congregation, we wanted to thank you for the Rosh Hashana gift of honey and Havdalah candles. When we arrived for services on Rosh Hashana, the honey and Havdalah candles were waiting for us with amazing notes from TBE members. Notes of love and caring and kindness. Getting these special gifts felt as if our TBE friends were here. For the first time during these difficult times, we felt warm inside and had a token of the deep connection that time and distance cannot affect. So many of us placed them on our holiday tables to remind us we are not alone and to that we have this amazing bond with TBE! We can’t thank you enough for all your kindness, especially in these dark days. We thank you all at TBE on behalf of our entire Or Hadash community!
