In a few weeks, four TBE members will be undertaking the 2018 Israel Ride. They’ll be among over 200 riders biking from Jerusalem to Eilat to raise money for two amazing organizations. The Israel-based Arava Institute teaches Israeli, Palestinian and Jordanian students about environmentalism in an integrated program. Hazon is a US-based organization that connects environmental issues to Jewish tradition.

For us, this combines three things we are passionate about: stewardship of the environment, bridging conflict, and of course biking! This will be Robert’s first trip to Israel and Miriam’s first in quite a while.

I loved this tradition on my previous ride. Everyone goes into the Red Sea and hoists their bike above their head in celebration of completing the wonderful week-long tour of Israel and its people.
