About Alex
Hi Temple Beth Elohim, I am Alex Brueggeman. I am 12 years old. I absolutely love playing sports, especially soccer! I play for two soccer teams, my travel town team in Needham, and my club team. That adds up to a total of playing six days a week! A few other hobbies I have are lacrosse, basketball, skiing, arts and crafts, anything outdoors, and CrossFit. Over the summer I go to a few day camps, a few sleepaway ones, and love hanging out at the pool and in the ocean. I live with my mom (Jodi), dad (Joe), and sister (Sophie). My sister is two and half years younger than me and is currently 10. I have a siamese cat named Skylar and a Golden Retriever named Ben. I am a seventh grader at Pollard Middle school in Needham. I like all of my classes, but P.E. is my favorite. I am an advanced reader but P.E. will always override.I love hanging out with my friends and I feel grateful to have them in lots of my classes!
As a Bat Mitzvah, I am happy to be learning from this experience just like my mom did. As I have just joined TBE two years ago I am still learning some of the ropes, but I have many happy faces to help me. This journey towards becoming a Bat Mitzvah has been incredible and I can’t wait to accomplish it. Becoming a Bat Mitzvah means a lot to me because it proves to myself and my family and friends that I can accomplish great things in life. For my Ma’asim Tovim, I am engaging in a variety of opportunities. One example is participating in a local chapter of Days for Girls, where I am helping create hygiene kits for girls in Russia and Ukraine. These kits are also going to those who may not have access to these types of hygiene items and may not be able to afford them. I chose this because it really has inspired me to do more community service. Lastly, I do this because it makes me feel good to help those in need, especially for important things like personal hygiene.
