When I reflect on the last six months, I’ve learned what I took for granted, what I can live without, and what is truly important. Meeting friends for coffee, going to Shabbat services at TBE, traveling to distant places, or going to a Broadway show are no longer possibilities in the near future. When those possibilities return, I will cherish them with the understanding that at any moment, they may be gone again.
I’ve learned that family, friends, deep conversation, and helping others are more important. And with that, I am committed to spending more time fighting for social justice and helping others less privileged than myself.
