During the pandemic Mark and I have been taking long masked walks together and discovering gorgeous paths through the woods and wildlife preserves near us that we’d never before known existed or had time to explore. The joy has been taking these daily walks together as well as the frequent walks with children and grandchildren who all live close by and in our discovering newly hatched turtles on the path, a huge pond of spectacular water lilies, a bald eagle, playful chipmunks, and all sorts of other critters along the way. I feel so lucky that our family lives close by because we’ve also been able to spend a lot of other time together outside and also play distanced golf with our son and grandsons too. The biggest challenge for me has been dealing with the frustration of having to stay 6 ft apart and not being able to give my children, grandchildren, or friends a hug.
