TBElle is a unique learning program led by fellow congregants who are excited to share their knowledge and interests in a relaxed, fun learning experience.

Hidden Jews of the Inquisition

This is a story of religious identity, definitions of racial purity, battles between church and state and, in a more contemporary situation, questions about what we have learned from the Inquisition.

Religious Liberty

Freedom of religion is near and dear to our Jewish hearts. Our Constitution memorialized this right in the first words of the Bill of Rights, in the first sentence of the First Amendment to the Constitution: Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; In this class, we will briefly explore a bit of history on how the United States Supreme Court (SCOTUS) interpreted these sixteen simple and breathtaking words.
