The TBE Blog

We feel privileged to serve as Co-Chairs of Sisterhood@TBE working with a committee of 10 women. Our mission is to engage TBE women of all ages in building community — making connections, fostering new friendships, and nurturing existing ones.

Stephanie: To me, building a Sisterhood community is all about making connections and forming bonds in a Jewish context, especially between women who might not have crossed paths otherwise. I do the same thing in other contexts as well. It’s part of who I am, and why I joined in 2012. Now, as co-chair, I aim to have our committee offer a variety of programming so there’s something for everyone throughout the year and to welcome new members at TBE and newcomers to Sisterhood@TBE events as if they’re old friends. I believe very strongly in the power and importance of bringing together women of all ages and life stages, with varying interests and goals, to learn and have fun as a group. Additionally, I receive great joy from the friendships made through Sisterhood@TBE. Come join us!

Sheryl: I’ve chosen to devote time and energy to building Sisterhood@TBE because I believe it’s invaluable for women congregants to feel a sense of belonging to a “home” within the larger TBE community. Sisterhood@TBE often becomes the basis for participating in temple life. I enjoy collaborating with our committee members to deliver fun, lively, interesting and educational programs, usually with a Jewish theme.  I also enjoy meeting and working with other TBE members, clergy, lay leaders and staff. I’m delighted that, in fostering a sense of social connection for TBE women, our Sisterhood@TBE programs have been highly successful. I find it gratifying to contribute to community life at TBE, our family’s synagogue for over 34 years!
