We are excited to pilot an Interfaith Family Initiative with support from the Sherry and Alan Leventhal Family Foundation. Throughout the year, we invite you to join us for programmatic and spiritual opportunities designed to guide interfaith families in cultivating a positive connection to Jewish life. Through TBE interfaith family programs and gatherings we wish to provide opportunities to discuss particular challenges, joys, and experiences common to interfaith families in a safe, nurturing environment. By learning, connecting and acting upon our common values, we hope to create a strong sense of belonging for interfaith families who seek to build community at TBE.
We will continue to add events throughout the year. To receive the most up-to-date information on interfaith family programming, please contact Rabbi Rachel Saphire to be added to our mailing list.
Celebrating a Lifecycle Event as an Interfaith Family: Rabbi Saphire will offer special B’nai Mitzvah and BM3T sessions designed to help your interfaith family navigate the process of becoming Bar/Bat Mitzvah. Explore the meaning of this significant milestone and consider your family members’ participation in the ritual. Contact Rabbi Saphire to schedule an appointment to discuss other lifecycle events (baby naming, wedding, conversion, funeral, etc.)
Parents of Children in Interfaith Relationships: This group offers a warm environment for parents with adult children in interfaith relationships to share our experiences. Contact Marjorie Freiman. At TBE, we strive to be an inclusive community, a beautiful blend of people choosing to live Jewishly in many ways. Honoring this value, we are excited to further support our families and individuals in interfaith relationships. We invite you to contact Rabbi Rachel Saphire or (781) 235-8419 x203.
Rabbi Saphire invites you to contact her to share your family’s interfaith experience or to join our Interfaith Families mailing list, RSaphire @TBEWellesley.org.
