Why is it so often difficult to live the loving lives to which we aspire? How can we become wiser and more responsive, instead of triggered and reactive? Tikkun middot is a Jewish practice for cultivating desirable middot, or character traits, including generosity, patience, balance, trust, and courage. The practice is grounded in traditional Jewish teachings and contemporary Jewish mindfulness practice, and it is a powerful and practical tool for aligning our actions with our most deeply held values. Tikkun middot practice is for anyone who wants to more often be their “best self” in the small and large actions of daily life.

We have offered classes in tikkun middot practice for the past several years. This year, we will provide an opportunity to learn and practice together to anyone who is interested — both those returning to the practice and those who are brand-new to it.

This two-class introduction session is designed for those who have not studied tikkun middot practice before. These sessions will introduce you to the fundamentals of tikkun middot and mindfulness practice, and the ways in which they complement and enrich one another. Participation in these two sessions will prepare you to join returning students for the on-going program, which will meet twice monthly throughout the year.
