About Dahlia
Hi TBE community. My name is Dahlia Weinstock. I have a lot of interests, but I love basketball. I started playing in kindergarten, and even though I am not the tallest person, I work hard, play in 3 leagues, and have dreams of playing professional basketball. I am a huge Celtics fan.
I have a 14 year old brother named Aaron and my parents are Laura and Jon. We have a 3 year old rescue dog named Daisy. I am a 7th grader at Wellesley Middle School where my favorite subject is science.
Becoming b’mitzvah took a lot of work and means more responsibility for me going forward. I introduced a new sneaker recycling program in my community and have been collecting lightly used sneakers that otherwise would be thrown out and buried in a landfill and send them in for reselling. I donate the money from that to charity to provide access to athletics for underserved communities. I believe I am doing my small part to protect the earth’s environment, help kids participate in athletics, and achieve their own dreams.
About Hannah
Hi TBE! I am Hannah Weiss. I am #16 on my Newton Panthers 12U softball team. I love being on the field and with my teammates during practices and games. In my free time you can find me hanging out with friends, my little brother Noah (11), and my cat Sunny. I also love going to the theater for plays and musicals. I attend Brown Middle School where my favorite class is social studies. I love learning about history.
To me being a bat mitzvah is about carrying on the Jewish traditions of my family and connecting with the Jewish community. I have done many hours of community service at different organizations including Cradles to Crayons, Dignity Matters, and JFCS Family Table. I love going to do community service hours because I love to help people, and those opportunities help me do just that.
