About Sydney
Dear TBE community,
My name is Sydney Schwartz. I’m in 8th grade and live in Needham and go to Pollard Middle School. My favorite subject in school is art and ceramics because I love to be creative. My favorite hobby is reading and I especially like historical fiction and fantasy/dystopia. I have been going to Camp Matoaka in Smithfield, Maine every summer since I was 7 years old. It’s my favorite place on Earth and I always look forward to it every year. I love seeing my bunk mates and going to all the fun activities there. Water skiing and the ropes course are my favorite. Friends have always been a very important part of my life and I am very lucky to have friends from all different parts of my life including school, dance, camp, and other places I’ve lived. I am a competitive dancer and do a lot of different styles of dance. This year I have a solo in tap but I also enjoy jazz, hip hop, pointe, and contemporary/modern. I love traveling and have been very lucky to have had some interesting experiences. I have ice skated on the Eiffel Tower, snorkeled in Australia, and skied in Switzerland. When I travel, I get to experience different languages, cultures, and food. The last place I went skiing was St. Moritz and I think my favorite part was the amazing chocolate store in town. I am an only child and live with my mom, Jennifer, my dad, Scott; and my dog, Charlie. As a Jewish adult I’m excited to be given more responsibility, especially now that I babysit for my neighbors. I hope one day to continue my travels and visit Israel.
