About Sloan
Hi TBE! My name is Sloan Marmer and I am 12 years old. I am a 7th grader at Wellesley Middle School. My favorite subject is ELA because I like to read and write. I love acting, singing, dancing, traveling, baking, and hanging out with my friends. I love traveling to NYC to see Broadway musicals every Christmas (except for 2020) and spending some time on Cape Cod over the summer. A few of my favorite Broadway musicals include Dear Evan Hansen, Come From Away, and Six.
I live in Wellesley with my parents, Cindy and David, my sister, Jessica(15), and my dog, Lexi.
To me, becoming a bat mitzvah means taking on new responsibilities, becoming a better person, and being more involved in the TBE community. For my mitzvah project, about a year ago I started making food for people in need. When we cook, we choose to serve the food with dignity. What I mean by that is that we don’t just make l sandwiches, instead we make foods like beef wellington, lasagna, and breaded chicken, etc.. And even when we make sandwiches, we make delicious gourmet sandwiches so that even someone without a home knows that they matter too. I chose this as my project because it makes me know how fortunate I am to be able to have food security and help those who don’t. I am so excited to celebrate this moment with my friends and family.
