- 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM
- Program Leader: Elliot Schildkrout & Marvin Israelow
This class is full.
Continuing from the Introduction Session (which is a pre-requisite for participation in this program), this highly interactive program is open to men who are transitioning or have retired. We will continue with the many dimensions of aging through readings, text study, meditation, and group discussion.
Facilitated by Marvin Israelow and Elliot Schildkrout, the program will explore in a deeply personal way, this unique transitional time of our lives. Open to men who are transitioning or have retired, we will consider through readings, text study, meditation, and group discussion, the many dimensions of aging.
We will use the curriculum developed by Rabbi Rachel Cowan and Dr. Linda Thal in their book, Wise Aging—Living with Joy, Resilience and Spirit. Referred to as the Third Stage in our lives we deal with identity transition, family and communal change, and the reality of impermanence for ourselves and our loved ones. This time also offers us an expanding opportunity for increasing emotional openness and spiritual awareness as well as an appreciation of our Jewish heritage and the power of spiritual community.
