- 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM
Our Mincha Ma’ariv service includes the celebration of the B’Mitzvah of Madison Gittlitz. Please take note: This service is being held remotely and will be a private family service.
Hello TBE community!
My name is Madison Gittlitz. I am a 7th grader at Kennedy Middle School in Natick. I live with my mom and dad, and our three cats: Mittens, Bowie and Freddie. Mittens is almost 19 years old, and Bowie and Freddie are almost two.
At school, my favorite core subject is math and my favorite non-core subject is anything music. I love music so much that I play the oboe in three different bands at school! They are the 7th grade band, the jazz band, and the honors woodwind ensemble. I have also been playing the guitar since I was 9, and started playing the piano last year. When I’m not playing music, you can find me on the soccer field playing defense for my travel team, or out running with the Strivers Running group.
It’s been difficult preparing for this important occasion during the COVID-19 pandemic, but I think I was able to do my best with the challenges I had to face. Part of preparing during the pandemic meant being more responsible since I was on my own to study most of the time. Taking on more responsibilities is an important part of becoming a Bat Mitzvah because now I will be seen as an adult in the Jewish community. Over the next year following my Bat Mitzvah, I hope to complete my service project by volunteering with a local organization that focuses on taking care of animals that are waiting to find their forever homes.
