May 2025 Ending Hunger Initiative Meeting (Hybrid)

Join TBE’s new Ending Hunger Initiative, a coalition of the many congregant-led activities to address the current challenges of food insecurity and provide opportunities for engagement in ending hunger. By working collaboratively together, we aim to support current efforts of our many committees while also amplifying our collective power to raise awareness about the prevalence of hunger and to take action to end food security.

During this event, you can learn about—and help shape—the work of three subcommittees: Education, Advocacy, and Direct Service. Get updated on the latest threats to federal benefit programs like SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program), support for MEFAP (MA Emergency Family Assistance Program) that supports food banks, and the free School Breakfast and Lunch programs. Hunger is an epidemic that earlier this year was reported to affect one in three households (34%) in MA—a number that has been steadily increasing in 2025 while MA has already seen drastic cuts to governmental funding.

This event is sponsored by the Ending Hunger Initiative, which aims to strengthen and align the efforts of TBE’s many current and future lay-lead and organizational efforts addressing hunger through education, direct service, and advocacy.
