Lag B’Omer Bonfire Outdoors at TBE

  • Thursday, April 29
  • 6:30 PM to 7:30 PM
  • Register
  • Program Leader: Rabbi Rachel Saphire

Celebrate the 33rd day of the Omer in person in the TBE parking lot with songs and stories around our fire pits.

“Lag” is the Hebrew letters lamed and gimel, which represent the number 33, the 33rd day of the Omer count. (The Omer is the period of 7 weeks between Passover and Shavuot) Lag B’Omer celebrates Rabbi Shimon Bar Yochai, an important 2nd century sage who revealed the secrets of mystical Judaism. It is a common practice to celebrate Lag B’Omer by lighting bonfires in honor of the light that Rabbi Shimon Bar Yochai brought to the world.

Essential Information about In-Person Events:

  1. Health & Safety: In order to protect the health and safety of our entire community, we require anyone attending an in-person event at TBE who is over the age of five to wear a face covering or mask. For children between age two and five, the wearing of a face covering or mask is at the discretion of the child’s parent or guardian. Children under the age of two should not wear a face covering or mask. We are committed to practicing physical distancing while at the temple. You must maintain physical distance of six feet between households. Members of the same household may sit together. We will have numbered spots drawn on our parking lot indicating where groups should sit to be a safe distance apart. We look forward to welcoming you and helping you find a space for your household to ensure everyone remains a safe distance apart.
  2. RSVP & Health Screening: Every individual coming to TBE is required to complete an online health screening form when they RSVP. Click the purple registration link above to RSVP and complete the health screening form.
  3. About In-Person Events: Some important things to keep in mind: Restrooms: There will not be access to restrooms. Seating: If you would like to sit, please bring your own chairs for this casual outdoor experience. Attire: We invite you to wear casual attire and recommend bundling up to keep warm during this outdoor program!
