What does it mean to be Jewish today? Why does Judaism matter—for Jews and non-Jews alike? What’s with the rise of antisemitism, and how is it shaping Jewish identity?
Join us for an evening with author and former White House speechwriter Sarah Hurwitz, as she shares insights from her powerful new book, As a Jew: Reclaiming Our Story from Those Who Blame, Shame, and Try to Erase Us. In this timely and thoughtful work, Sarah explores how antisemitism has influenced Jewish identity—and how Jews can reclaim their tradition with pride and purpose.
Known for her engaging and accessible voice, Sarah weaves together Jewish wisdom, history, and practice in a way that inspires deeper understanding and connection—inviting Jews to feel more joyfully and confidently Jewish, and helping others appreciate the richness of the tradition.
A dessert reception and book signing will follow the conversation.
About Sarah Hurwitz: Sarah Hurwitz served as a White House speechwriter from 2009 to 2017, first for President Barack Obama, and later as head speechwriter for First Lady Michelle Obama.
