21 Day Racial Equity Challenge with TBE Online
- Monday, March 1 - Sunday, March 21
- All Day Event
At Passover we remember and celebrate the exodus from Egypt and freedom from slavery. But as Jews experienced then, freedom carries with it responsibilities to examine our beliefs, values and behaviors. This Passover season, we invite TBE congregants to join the Racial Justice Initiative’s 21 Day Racial Equity Challenge—a program to encourage self-examination of our unconscious biases, and to further understanding of the roots of racism and its consequences.
For the three weeks before Passover, from Monday, March 1 through Sunday March 21, participants will receive a daily email with readings and videos as well as questions upon which to reflect. The readings and video will take approximately 15-30 minutes daily (with one or two days slightly longer). You may decide to do all the readings, videos and questions or just some, or you may skip a day—entirely up to you! At the end of the week, those who are interested can gather on Zoom to learn from one another, discuss personal experiences and reactions to what we’ve learned about the impacts of racism. Again, this is optional! Our goal is to learn, reflect and share as we deepen our understanding and become more engaged in our quest for racial equity.
Please sign up by clicking the purple registration button above. We recommend you register by February 25 to participate, but you are welcome to join after as well. For more information, contact Susan Sidel or Nan Langowitz.
TBE’s Racial Justice Initiative seeks to increase our understanding and activism to address ongoing discrimination and inequality.
