sis·ter·hood (Noun) 1. The feeling of kinship with and closeness to a group of women.
[email protected] brings together the women of our community through fun social gatherings and stimulating Jewish themed programs. Events are planned by committee members and are led by our magnificent clergy and staff as well as congregants and speakers with expertise in various fields.
[email protected] is open to all congregants who identify as women.
Want to connect with a bunch of great women and help out on the [email protected] committee? We would love your input and enthusiasm and there's not a lot of heavy lifting! Contact Stephanie Kasok, [email protected] or Sheryl Perechocky, [email protected], co-chairs, for more information.
[email protected] offers delightful social opportunities and wonderful learning programs for all who identify as women in the TBE community. In May a group of us gathered at TBE for a night of beading jewelry with Sarapaan of Wellesley, and in July several dozen gathered for a wondrous evening of acoustic music and a delicious meal while we visited each other under the stars in the TBE rear courtyard. We have a wonderful lineup of learning and social events schedule for the coming year. Join us for any and all of our upcoming programs.
Sixth Annual [email protected] Summer Soiree
Wednesday, July 18, 6:30 pm
Come together with friends old and new for a delicious catered meal and drinks on the beautiful TBE rear courtyard. This is a great opportunity for new TBE members to meet other members in a casual setting, and for others to reconnect mid-summer.
We ask that attendees please contribute canned salmon and whole grain cereal for Family Table. The need is always greater during the Summer when donations are slower. Learn more >
Fee: $36/pp. Financial assistance is available by contacting Susan Karon confidentially, [email protected].
TBE, as a community, is responsible for supplying 50 cans of salmon and 50 boxes of whole grain cereal to Family Table, Greater Boston's only Jewish food pantry, on a monthly basis. This is a particularly challenging task during the summer months when so many congregants are away and both the preschool and religious schools are not in session. These items provide vital nutritional support to families and can be purchased quite affordably at markets like Trader Joes and Market Basket! Please consider purchasing canned salmon and whole grain cereal to assist in the collection. You may bring your donations to the Sisterhood event or drop them off in the donation bins located in the temple foyer throughout the summer. Thank you so much for your generous support. Questions? On the first Monday night of each month. No game nights in July or August. We pick up the second Monday in September (due to the holiday), bring your Mah Jongg group to play at TBE or come by yourself/with a friend to join an impromptu group. Bring your game set, if you have one, and your 2018 card (available for purchase now). We hope to see many of you and continue the momentum from our March series of game nights!
Please Note--You need to bring your own Mah Jongg card. They are available for purchase nearby at Taylor's Stationery, 1451 Highland Avenue in Needham, and at various Judaica shops in the area. They can also be ordered online from various Mah Jongg suppliers.
