SisterhoodatTBE logo[email protected] brings together all those who identify as women in our TBE community through fun social gatherings and stimulating Jewish themed programs. Our events are planned by committee members and are led by our magnificent clergy and staff as well as congregants and speakers with expertise in various fields.

Movie Night and Popcorn at TBE
Thursday, January 24, 6:30-9:00 pm

Come together at 6:30 pm for schmoozing, followed by a viewing of the highly acclaimed movie, The Women's Balcony. The movie begins at 7:00 pm.

TBE congregant Rabbi Debra Goldstein will lead a brief discussion session following the movie.

Challah Baking Event
Thursday February 28,
6:30-9:00 pm

Wellesley-Weston Chabad Center, 793 Worcester Street, Wellesley

The Challah Bake will be a fun opportunity to get together socially and to learn how to bake challah. The program will be led by Geni Bleich of Wellesley-Weston Chabad. Each participant will take home a delicious braided challah loaf that they prepared from scratch, ready to bake in the oven. Making challah is a wonderful and satisfying mitzvah! Registration is limited to 30 participants. Ample parking is available at the Wellesley-Weston Chabad.

Join us for a multigenerational and inspirational evening for women of TBE presented by women of TBE to celebrate women’s heroism, strength and solidarity in a Women’s Passover Seder of stories, songs, and supper.

Featuring the thought-provoking teachings of congregant Marsha Mirkin and musical leadership of Cantors Jodi Sufrin and Shanna Zell.

Theater Outing to Becoming Dr. Ruth
Sunday, April 28, 2019 (performance begins at 4:00 pm)

New Rep Theater, located in the Mosesian Center for the Arts, 321 Arsenal Street, Watertown

[email protected] goes to the theatre! Join us for this entertaining show about the life of famous sex therapist, Dr. Ruth Westheimer. After the performance we will return to TBE for a brief discussion and casual dinner. Attendees can meet at the theatre or carpool from TBE.  There is free parking in the Arsenal’s covered garage or in surface lots. Space is limited to 35 attendees.

Becoming Dr. Ruth by Mark St. Germain - Becoming Dr. Ruth chronicles the life of noted psychologist Dr. Ruth Westheimer from her early years fleeing Nazi Germany to her time spent as a sniper in Jerusalem and beyond. This illuminating one woman show from the author of Freud’s Last Session is a humorous and heartfelt portrait detailing Dr. Ruth’s incredible journey to become a pioneer in the psychology of human sexuality and the world’s most famous sex therapist.

Anne O'Sullivan joins the New Rep production of Becoming Dr. Ruth in the title role. O'Sullivan portrayed Dr. Ruth in a critically acclaimed Off-Broadway production in NYC in 2015. She will be joined by director Stephen Nachamie, the director of the same 2015 production.
