Day School Community at TBE

Temple Beth Elohim and our local Jewish day schools share the belief that relationships and community are central to living a joyful, fulfilling Jewish life.  Through learning, tikkun olam, prayer, celebration and caring, both TBE and day schools foster Jewish journeys that are relevant and meaningful, and that enrich each child and parent individually and communally.  With our shared vision and values, school and synagogue are each an extension of the other and both places feel like home. Read on to learn more about how you can deepen your connections.  As you become more engaged, you will experience first hand what makes TBE and Jewish day school a perfect fit! Click here to learn more about The Day School Community at TBE >

Upcoming Events

Join our Day School Community at TBE for our annual Shabbat dinner. Eat together as a community, and then kids and parents go their separate ways. Students will have programming, while parents schmooze. Don't forget to bring your own bottle of wine!

Concurrent to this dinner, our 6th and 7th graders will be taking part in the JELY Shul-in (see below for more details). If you have students in 6th and 7th grade, we hope you will sign them up for the Shul-in, and join the Day School dinner with the rest of your family.

We are still looking for an event chair to help us plan certain parts of the evening. If you are interested, please email Rabbi Josh

TBE Community Events

We're piloting a new approach for 4th and 5th grade learning that provides three new and dynamic learning options that would be great opportunities for our Day School students.

Each track provides an intensive Jewish learning experience through a particular lens. Whether you have an interest in Art (Omanut), Literature (Sifrut) or Science, Technology, Engineering & Math (Tagliyot), there's an option for you!

Our tracks follow a parallel thematic curriculum with opportunities for all of the classes to share, reflect and celebrate their learning throughout the year. Recognizing that parents are the best teachers, each unit includes a session for parents to introduce them to the text and topics that their children will explore. Omanut and Tagliot meet twice a month on Sundays, and Sifrut, once a month on Sundays.  Click below to learn more about each option. We are offering rolling admission through December for our Day School families.

Lunches for the Homeless
Saturday, October 22, 2:00-4:00pm at TBE

Help us make 'to-go' lunches for friends at Bristol Lodge, a local mens shelter.  We'll be making sandwiches, writing some notes and packing the lunches up at TBE and then delivering them to the lodge in Waltham afterwards. So we'll also be looking for a driver or two to drop off the lunches that day. Note: This is a peanut free activity, all ages welcomed.

Let's open up our children's eyes.. and help make them into mensches!

We offer amazing and meaningful volunteer opportunities for families with children in kindergarten through 5th grade (younger and older siblings welcome!)  This group will be a wonderful way to connect with other TBE families.

Get ready to roll up our sleeves and show our children that we care for others in our community and we can make a difference!  Learn more.
