The Grade 6 Judaic curriculum focuses on Text Study and Sacred Choices. The duration of the school year will be divided into semesters. Each semester, students will engage in study of one area of the curriculum:
  • Text Study: Our text study curriculum focuses on enhancing students’ understanding of Jewish text. They will also learn about the Jewish tradition of text interpretation and how to interpret rabbinic commentaries and Midrash. At the last class of each semester parents are invited to join their children in a special program to select the Torah portion for their child’s Bar/Bat Mitzvah.
  • Sacred Choices: This class will engage students in discussion about current issues they face about such things as peer pressure, relationships, friends and positive self-image. The class will provide students with tools to help them live their lives and make informed choices guided by Jewish ethics.
