Giving To Temple Beth Elohim

congregants worshipingIn Judaism, tzedakah is not merely an act of giving; it is a commitment of faith and a fundamental part of life. Although many people believe that the Hebrew word tzedakah means charity, the word's roots convey much more - a combination of righteousness, fairness and justice. The Rabbis of old taught that the construction of the Temple was not completed until everyone had contributed to the effort. As a result, the Holy Temple, the place where our people and God met, was dependent upon the good will and donations of each and every one of our ancestors.

Today, each gift to Temple Beth Elohim reflects that tradition. Gifts provide inspiring worship services led by outstanding clergy; stimulating educational opportunities for children and adults; Jewish cultural programming; connection and caring for our congregational community; fulfillment of our commitment to tikkun olam (repairing the world) and K'Lal Israel (the Jewish community worldwide); membership to all who wish to join regardless of ability to pay full dues/fees; and maintenance of our building.

We always welcome gifts for general operating support, which offer the most flexibility in directing funds where the need is greatest.  TBE also has established funds which direct support to specific uses.  All of the Temple’s tzedakah tribute funds provide very appropriate opportunities to honor individuals, show appreciation to others for the kindness they may have shown you, celebrate all life cycle occasions and memorialize loved ones.

Contributions, tributes and gifts helps strengthen what we already do and makes our possibilities even greater.  Every gift, every dollar donated to TBE makes a difference!  Your support and generosity are always greatly appreciated.
